FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - The bail hearing for a Fort St. John man facing four charges in connection with an alleged violent home invasion and sexual assault on October 27 has been postponed.
Michael Broad, 34, faces charges of sexual assault with a weapon, breaking and entering to commit an indictable offence, uttering threats and forcible confinement.
Broad’s virtual bail hearing was originally scheduled to take place October 29, it was then adjourned until November 5. At the request of the defence that’s now been delayed until November 9.

Fort St. John RCMP previously said a stranger allegedly entered a home on 87 Street late in the evening on October 27 after “following one of the female residents” to the property.
“He was initially scared out of the residence by those at the house, and police were called and a neighbourhood search ensued,” Fort St. John RCMP said in a news release the day after the incident.
According to authorities, the man returned to the home later the same evening and allegedly sexually assaulted a different resident before being scared off again.
Broad remains in custody ahead of his next court appearance.
The charges have not been tested in court.
