Residents will have the chance to meet Miss Universe Canada Ashley Callingbull during a special community event hosted by Saulteau First Nations Thursday evening.
The meet-and-greet will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Saulteau Cultural Centre, where Callingbull will share her personal journey and spend time with community members.
Organizers say attendees will have an opportunity to hear Callingbull speak, meet her in person, take photos and enjoy an evening of community gathering.
Callingbull, who was crowned Miss Universe Canada, is widely recognized as an Indigenous advocate, model and television personality.
Event organizers are encouraging community members to attend and take part in the celebration.
The event will also feature a Big Auntie Earring Contest at the end of the evening.
