Drivers across the Peace Region are seeing some relief at the pumps, despite ongoing conflict and uncertainty in the Middle East.

According to GasBuddy, one gas station in Fort St. John was selling fuel for as low as $1.39 per litre Tuesday.

However, the average price in the city remains around $1.75 per litre, with the highest reported price sitting at $1.81.

Just over a month ago, gas prices in Fort St. John were nearing $2.00 per litre.

In Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe, drivers are paying approximately $1.72 per litre.

Meanwhile, Chetwynd continues to have the highest fuel prices in the region, with gas selling for about $1.94 per litre.

The decline comes after fuel prices surged across northeastern B.C. earlier this spring, when analysts warned geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could keep costs elevated for months.
