FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - Residents of Fort St. John are being invited to lace up their shoes, hop on a bike, or push a stroller as the annual Terry Fox Run returns to the community this weekend.
The family-friendly event will take place Sunday, September 20, at Northern Lights College.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. while participants setting out on either a five-kilometre or 10-kilometre route will start at 10 a.m.
Organizers say the run is designed to be accessible for people of all ages and fitness levels. Participants can choose to run, walk, ride a scooter, cycle, push a stroller, or simply enjoy a stroll along Fort St. John’s city-built walking paths.
The event supports cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation and honours the legacy of Canadian icon Terry Fox.
Organizers say the day is about more than fundraising, bringing the community together in support of cancer fighters, survivors, and families affected by the disease.

There is no registration fee to participate, although attendees are encouraged to donate or collect pledges to support cancer research efforts. Organizers are asking participants to register online ahead of the event.
The Terry Fox Run is held in communities across Canada each year and will go ahead rain or shine
