All new measles cases announced this week are from Northern BC

The BC Centre for Disease Control is reporting 8 new measle cases across British Columbia. All of the new cases announced since December 4,th come from Northern BC.

The three new cases this week in Northeast BC, bring the regional total for 2025, to 288. Almost 80 per cent of the province’s 382 cases this year, have come from the Northeast.

The BC CDC is reporting that the measles is actively circulating in Dawson Creek.

Officials continue to urge British Columbians to get vaccinated. They also say that misinformation is being spread online about the vaccine and is contributing to the rise in cases.
