Alberta Health Services issued another potential measles exposure in Grand Prairie. This time, AHS said it came from the Labour and Delivery department of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Health officials said people who were at the Labour and Delivery department on July 22, from just after noon, to just before 3 in the afternoon, may have been exposed to the virus.

“Anyone who attended this location at these times, who was born in or after 1970 and has fewer than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, may be at risk for developing measles,” said AHS.

This is the second potential exposure in Grande Prairie this month. The last one came between July 6 and 8 after a person with a confirmed case of measles visited four locations across the city.

AHS has now confirmed 1,644 total cases of measles across Alberta, and 16 cases are considered to be active. They also say 1,396 cases come from people who did not receive any dose of the measles vaccine.
