Alberta Health Services has issued a new potential measles exposure location in Grande Prairie for the second time this week.

On Tuesday, CJDC-TV reported a person with a confirmed case of measles visited the medical clinic at the Real Canadian Superstore in the morning of July 28.

On Wednesday, AHS said an infected person was at the emergency department of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital later that day, between approximately 8 p.m. and 1:15 a.m., and again on July 30 between 12:45 p.m. and just before 6 p.m.

AHS has now confirmed 1,745 cases of measles across Alberta, though only three cases is known to be active. They also said 583 cases come from the North zone of the province.

If symptoms of measles do develop, AHS urges people to stay home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare facility or provider, including a family physician clinic or pharmacy.
