After a harrowing 4 days in Dawson Creek that saw 4 separate shootings, one of which ended with a murder charge, residents can breathe a bit easier.
CJDC TV News has learned that the final suspect in the shootings has been arrested. Sources said that police in Hythe, Alberta have arrested a person that is alleged to have shot at police last week, after a drive-by shooting.
Neighbours said that early last Friday morning 4 shots were fired at a house on 119th Avenue.
A car sped off followed by the sound of broken glass. Police found the abandoned vehicle and then brought in the K-9 unit. After a brief search two suspects were arrested.
Police were still looking for a third suspect. The suspect was in a separate vehicle and allegedly shot at police officers as they were fleeing the scene.
A source said that the suspect was arrested on outstanding warrants in Alberta. So far, no charges have been laid in the shooting.
CJDC TV News has learned the name of the suspect, but we are choosing not to release it until the person is brought back to BC and formally charged.
Jesse Bujold and Jasmin Vigfusson were arrested last Friday and are both facing one count of careless use of a firearm. Bujold is facing an additional count of flight from police.
After CJDC TV News reported that Nolan Schmidt was arrested in connection with 2 shootings in downtown Dawson Creek Sunday night and is now facing a second-degree murder charge, it is believed that all suspects in all 4 shootings, have now been arrested.
