FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. - The North Peace Fall Fair is back for its 79th year this weekend, bringing livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, live entertainment and family-friendly activities to the fairgrounds from August 14 to 16.
The annual event officially gets underway Friday in North Pine, 21 kilometres north of Fort St. John.
Friday’s events include a light horse show, senior cool-down centre activities, exhibit entries, and livestock registrations for poultry, rabbits, swine, sheep and goats.
Visitors can also enjoy the Music Jamboree on Friday evening at the main stage and grandstand, featuring classic country music performers.
A tractor pull is scheduled for the evening on the north end of the grounds.
Livestock displays and agricultural exhibits will be available for public viewing throughout the day, giving residents an opportunity to see animals, projects and displays submitted by local producers and community members.
Organizers say the Fall Fair remains one of the region’s longest-running community traditions, celebrating agriculture and rural life while providing entertainment for residents and visitors alike.
The fair runs through Sunday, with additional exhibits, competitions and activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
Officials remind attendees that smoking, vaping and e-cigarettes are only permitted in designated areas and that cannabis use is not allowed on the property.
