28-year-old woman arrested after stabbing in Fort St. John parking lot

The Fort St. John RCMP have arrested a 28-year-old woman following a stabbing in a city parking lot.

Police said Kayla Breeze Trudeau was taken into custody after a man was stabbed in the chest.

Mounties said she was arrested within 10 minutes of the initial call and has since been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police noted that the suspect and the victim knew each other, and the man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened at approximately 1:46 pm on August 28, near 99 Avenue and 100 Street.

RCMP said despite the concerning nature of the incident, there is no risk to the public.
