FORT ST. JOHN -- One person has died after a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Fort St. John Wednesday night.
It happened around 9:30pm in the area of 93rd Street and 96th Avenue.
When police arrive at the scene they found the driver of the motorcycle suffering from significant injuries and receiving CPR. The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital but later died.
"The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with a truck that was making a left hand turn. CPR was initiated on scene by an off duty nurse that had come by the collision, but the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the hospital," said Staff Sergeant Scott Watson
Fort St John RCMP Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Services attended to conduct a forensic examination of the scene.
Initial witness reports indicate the motorcycle struck the pickup truck. Both vehicles have been seized for continued investigation.
