DAWSON CREEK -- Dawson Creek RCMP are reporting another case of shots being fired this week, the 5th case in a 4 day span.

Mounties say sometime between Monday and Tuesday morning, shots were fired in the southwest part of the city.

Police are not saying where exactly it happened because they say they want to preserve the crime scene.

Two vehicles were found with bullet holes in them. The RCMP confirm that there are no reported injuries.

It wasn't reported to police until 3 days later. Mounties are urging the public to call police immediately if you hear or see anything suspicious.

Early Sunday morning, residents of the Mile Zero Trailer Park awoke to the sound of gunshots. Then on Tuesday, there were 3 reports of shots being fired across the city in a 14 hour period.

Police say the most of the gun violence can attributed to a turf war between organized crime groups.

As a result, the RCMP is advising the public that over the next few days, there will be an increase in the number of police officers on the streets of Dawson Creek.

The BC RCMP Uniformed Gang Enforcement Unit is headed to Dawson Creek to be investigators.
