Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Highway 97 over Pine Pass.

20 to 50 cm of snow is expected to accumulate by the time the snowfall ends Saturday morning.

Environment Canada advises travellers to consider postponing non-essential trips until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
