FORT ST. JOHN -- A wildfire is burning out of control 80 kilometres northeast of Fort St. John.

The BC Wildfire Service says the fire was discovered near Beaver Creek Road at around 11:20am on Tuesday.

The fire has grown to 4 hectares in size. It is unclear how the blaze started but the Wildfire Service says it is suspected to be human caused.

The fire is burning north of the Doig River approximately 30 kilometers east of Prespatou.
