DAWSON CREEK -- Update: The Dawson Creek RCMP have issued a media release regarding the deaths.

"The Dawson Creek RCMP are warning the public of a possible toxic drug supply in Dawson Creek, given the quick succession of these two over dose related deaths. The British Columbia Corners Service has taken jurisdiction of the death investigations and are actively investigating these matters," said RCMP.

Mounties also confirming the age of the victims.

The female identified in this story was 43-years-old and found deceased in a makeshift shelter.

While the male, 30, was found dead in the park at the intersections listed.

"Police located numerous items indicative of recent drug use prior to his death," according to RCMP.

RCMP are investigating after two individuals were found dead at separate homeless camps in Dawson Creek.

According to the RCMP, an unidentified man discovered Lynsey Shendruk unresponsive after going to check on her at the site located on the intersection of 17th Street and Willowbrook Crescent.

The man then rode his bike to a nearby convenience store to call 9-1-1.

Police and the Coroner’s Service attended the scene where Shendruk was pronounced dead.

The same man who reported her death was then later found deceased on the 1500 Block of Chamberlain.

While the Coroner’s Service has not yet determined the exact causes of death, both fatalities are suspected to be due to drug overdoses.
