FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- Just over a week after healthcare workers in Fort St. John protested mandatory vaccines for those working in long-term care, there was another protest today in front of the Fort St. John hospital.

The protest was organized by a group called ‘Canadian Frontline Nurses’.

They are against the fact that vaccines are mandatory for healthcare workers.

One sign read “my body my choice”, while another read “freedom not force”.

The vaccination mandate will require every employee in long-term care homes and assisted living facilities to be fully vaccinated by October 12th.

One protester that was there in support, says he believes nurses should have the freedom to choose.

“If we lose employees here, these facilities could shut down. so this mandate is putting added pressure that isn’t needed on the system,” says Daniel Brule.

Dawson Creek also saw a protest today outside Rotary Manor for frontline healthcare workers.
