HUDSON'S HOPE -- Hudson's Hope is looking to help residents who may need extra support in case of an evacuation this wildfire season.

The Emergency Support Services team is looking to build a list of residents who may require extra assistance if a wildfire triggers an evacuation notice.

Residents with mobility challenges, medical conditions, and limited transportation options or technology access are being urged to reach out to the Support Services team.

In a letter, Emergency Support Services Director Kelsey Shewfelt said the information gathered will help ensure Support Services can provide the necessary assistance to residents in the event of an evacuation.

“The list will only be accessed by authorized personnel during an emergency,” said Shewelt.

Residents or family members of those who fit the description are being asked to contact Emergency Support Services at (250) 783-8859 or by sending an email to eocess@hudsonshope.ca.
