FORT NELSON -- A snowfall warning has been issued for northeastern B-C with accumulation of up to 15 centimetres possibly accompanied by winds reaching 50 kilometres an hour.

Environment Canada says the region from Fort Nelson to just north of Prespatou and the Alaska Highway may see blowing snow over higher terrain, and visibility may be suddenly reduced.

The snowfall is forecasted to last through the day and create quickly deteriorating road conditions, and motorists are asked to use caution.

Environment Canada says the snow and wind should ease by tonight.
