DAWSON CREEK -- A man with a long list of charges was arrested by Dawson Creek RCMP on Wednesday.

Allan Philips was wanted on 24 outstanding warrants stemming from Alberta.

On Wednesday morning Mounties say, they stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 97 South and Highway 52 North in Arras.

The 39 year old Allan was found in the vehicle and promptly arrested for the 24 outstanding unendorsed warrants.

Allan has 4 charges of fraud over $5000, 7 charges of fraud under $5000, 11 charges of obtaining credit by fraud, 1 count of false pretense and one count of failing to comply with a release document.

The Alberta warrants were extended to be valid in British Columbia. Some of the charges against Allen date back to 2014.

Police applied to keep Allen in custody, however he was quickly released back into the community of Dawson Creek.

“We understand the public’s frustration with the catch-and-release program in the justice system. We are frustrated too, as it directly impacts our community,” said Dawson Creek Mayor Darcy Dober

Dober added, "We are committed to continuing to advocate both provincially and federally for support and reform for our justice system.”
