TAYLOR -- A large grassfire broke out in Taylor just before 5pm Friday afternoon. Heavy smoke is coming from the fire which is located on Cherry Avevue West between Cherry Lane and Cherry Hill Road.

There has been a large response from emergency personal. Police and paramedics are also on-scene. The Taylor Fire Department has called in crews from the Charlie Lake and Fort St. John Fire Departments to help  battle the blaze.

High winds with gusts up 60 km/hr are not helping efforts to contain the blaze. The fire had grown to 4 hectares in size before crews managed to bring the blaze under control.

The BC WIldfire Service said the fire is suspected to be human caused but did not say how it may have started.
