SPIRIT RIVER, AB -- A house fire in Spirit River has claimed the life of one person.
Spirit River RCMP say, they arrived on scene around noon on Wednesday, after a report of a house fire in the area of 45 Avenue and 49 Street.
After the fire department extinguished the fire, human remains were found inside the residence.
The deceased has been tentatively identified but confirmation of the identity, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be made after an autopsy is performed.
Police say no one else was inside the home at the time the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
