DAWSON CREEK -- Emergency crews responded to a head-on collision Monday morning on the outskirts of Dawson Creek. It happened on Highway 97N near Mason Road.

Deputy Fire Chief Todd Pickett said the jaws of life had to be used to extrIcate a driver from his vehicle. The person was taking to hospital with serious but non-threatening injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene and released.

Pickett said it was 'near white-out" conditions when the accident happened. The Deputy Chief is reminding motorists to slow down, leave some space and drive to the conditions when it is snowing.
