FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. --  Twenty pallets of potatoes was a 'spud'tacular  surprise for the Fort St. John Salvation Army.

But the Salvation Army also working with local businesses to use all of the potatoes, even giving the bad ones to pigs.

However, staff were shocked at the amount when the delivery driver called to talk ‘logistics’

Salvation Army Community Family services Coordinator Melanie Mason saying  “And he was like you do realize you  just accepted 50,000 pounds of potatoes and I was like wait a minute what, lets back up a minute, I thought it was 100 bags of potatoes.” The Fort St. John branch receiving the potatoes from Second Harvest a national food charity.
