FORT ST. JOHN, BC -- Fort St. John Mounties have located a man who has been wanted by police several times.

Police say 32-year-old Richard Cletheroe was wanted on warrants for assault with a weapon. Mounties had warned the public not to confront Cletheroe.

Cletheroe has been wanted a number of times by police on the same charge.

In July of last year, Cletheroe was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was released from custody.

In September, he missed a court date and was captured once again by police, and was released from custody.

In November, he was wanted again on the same assault charge. Cletheroe was arrested days later, and was once again released from custody. He promised to appear in court on December 13th, but police say he never showed up.

Cletheroe was taken back into custody in January. He missed another court date on February 7th, and was arrested on February 18th.

He was released and missed yet another court appearance on February 28th. An endorsed warrant was issued in March, and executed by police on May 23rd

He was arrested again on June 12th and released once again. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 25th.

CJDC-TV reached out to the BC Prosecution Service for more information on Cletheroe’s releases. The service did not provide a direct answer. However, they did say he was released at the most recent bail hearing on cash deposit with conditions.
