DAWSON CREEK -- Northern Health announced rapid antigen test kits are available at COVID-19 testing centres throughout the Peace Region.
Northern Health says by Friday all testing centres around the Peace Region will have rapid take-home tests available.
Those seeking testing must fill out the Northern Health COVID-19 test booking form,then they will be directed to either the rapid antigen test or a PCR test depending on their symptoms.
Northern Health says those who do not have symptoms, those who have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 but are not showing symptoms or those who are fully vaccinated, are not recommended to take the rapid antigen test.
However, Northern Health says it’s important for people to take these rapid tests if they’re eligible.
“It’s important to be tested, get a result and know if they have COVID-19, that’s another important aspect is the ability to rapidly determine if the symptoms you're suffering from are COVID-19,” says Eryn Collins, Northern Health.
