DAWSON CREEK -- Dawson Creek RCMP are reporting a fourth vehicle in just over a week has been stolen while left unattended and running.

Police say it happened Wednesday just after 9am near the corner of 97th Avenue.

Mounties say a man left his work truck running at a work site. He went into a residence and when he came back the truck had been stolen.

Investigators say the stolen truck, tools and equipment are valued at around $100,000. The man also had his two phones, wallet and identification stolen.

It’s the fourth vehicle since last Monday to be stolen while left running in the city. On Saturday, a vehicle was stolen with two Golden Retrievers inside. The vehicle and dogs were found later in the day, unharmed.

Dawson Creek RCMP are once again reminding motorists to not leave vehicles running while unattended. Police say, “Don’t provide an opportunity to an opportunistic criminal.”
