FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- Two games were on the schedule this past weekend for the Dawson Creek Kodiaks and Fort St. John Huskies. One of those matchups taking place between the two teams.

The action started Friday night as the Huskies were in Grande Prairie County taking on the Kings. A shootout was needed, the Huskies managed to snag the win and continue their strangle hold on the N.W.J.H.L. Standings.

Kodiaks also taking to the ice Friday. Sexsmith Vipers paying a visit for the second straight weekend, looking to win back to back  in Dawson Creek. The Kodiaks denied Sexsmith the chance managing to shutout the Vipers 2-0.

On Saturday the Huskies hosted the Kodiaks at North Peace Arena for a cross highway matchup. The Kodiaks scored 2 quick goals in the first but an early deficit did not hold the Huskies back. They finished the game scoring 5 unanswered goals taking the win 5-2.

The Huskies lead the league with 33 points while the Kodiaks sit second last with 16.

Both teams are back on the ice this weekend with Friday home games. The Huskies will welcome the Grande Prairie Kings and the Kodiaks will host the Fairview Flyers.

Saturday the Kodiaks and Huskies will hit the road and swap opponents.

All games are 8 p.m. start times.
