FORT ST. JOHN -- Residents of Fort St. John are being given a reason to smile with the return of the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign.

The fundraiser held across Canada April 29 to May 5th, sees proceeds from chocolate chip cookies adorned with a signature pink and blue smile benefit local charities.

In Fort St. John, money raised from each cookie sold will be donated to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation, who have a set a fundraising goal they are calling ‘ambitious.’

In a press release, the Foundation says they are looking to raise $25,000 following last year’s record-setting campaign that saw just over $10,000 raised.

The cookies will be available at Tim Hortons locations across Fort St. John.

“Whether as a gesture of appreciation to employees, friends, or business associates, Smile Cookies are a delicious way to give back to the community,” said Northern Health in a press release.

The Foundation is asking residents and businesses to place pre-orders in an effort to help achieve their fundraising target.

Orders for five or more boxes will also be eligible for delivery.

Since its inception in 1996, the Smile Cookie campaign has raised over $111 million for charities across Canada.
