FORT ST. JOHN, BC -- A former Vancouver Canuck is coming to Fort St. John to talk about mental health.

Corey Hirsch was the goalie for the Canucks from 1995 to 1999, and won a silver medal at the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. He is also an advocate for ending the stigma around mental health.

Hirsch struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, and a suicide attempt during his NHL career. He is sharing his story during his Wellness in Construction speaking tour, focused on improving mental health in the construction industry.

Hirsch will be speaking at the Stonebridge Hotel in Fort St. John on June 14th. The event will run from 7am to 9am, and a breakfast buffet is included.
