DAWSON CREEK -- A fire broke out in a building just outside Dawson Creek Monday night. The building was located on 108th and Petrick Drive.
Fire crews were called to the scene just after midnight. When they arrived the front half of the building was fully engulfed in flames.
17 firefighters battled the blaze for three hours before a track hoe was brought in to help. Crews remained on scene for about seven hours. PNG was also called in after a gas pipe broke causing a flair from the burning gas.
The building, which used to be a tress shop, is totally destroyed.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and it remains under investigation.
