DAWSON CREEK -- A fire in Dawson Creek caused extensive damage to a self storage business Thursday night.

The fire broke out in a storage unit at the Dawson Creek Mini Mall Storage on 113th Avenue shortly after 8pm.

When fire crews arrived, heavy smoke and a flames could be seen pouring out of one of the middle units.

It took 19 firefighters to put the blaze out. The Dawson Creek Fire Department was on-scene for over 3.5 hours.

Some of the self storage units and the contents inside were completely destroyed.

Vehicles and a number of other nearby units were damaged from the smoke.

So far a cause of the fire has not been determined. The Dawson Creek Fire Department is continuing their investigation.
