DAWSON CREEK -- A group of concerned citizens in the Dawson Creek area have taken the Peace Region Regional District (PRRD) to BC Supreme Court.
Members of the group, “Fight the PRRD” are alleging the Regional District is infringing on their property rights.
Lyle Pringle said, “The Regional District refuses to allow land owners to run businesses on their own properties.”
Pringle alleges that it is impossible to meet the PRRD’s standards when it come to complying with existing bylaws.
'Fight the PRRD' has created a website and videos that illustrate their allegations and their problems with the Regional District in detail.
The group says when it comes to small businesses, the choice is either “to fight or fold.”
CJDC TV News reached out the PRRD for comment. A spokesperson said as the matter is before the courts, they cannot comment.
None of these allegations have been proven in a court of law.
