FORT ST. JOHN, BC -- An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the North and South Peace regions.
According to Environment Canada, extremely cold temperatures and wind chill values near -40°C are expected today. Wind chill values will moderate during the day, but very cold overnight low temperatures will persist into the weekend.
It’s advised you dress warmly, in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant. Also, cover any exposed skin, as frostbite can develop within minutes, especially with the wind chill.
