DAWSON CREEK -- An Evacuation Order in Saddle Hills County, Alberta has been rescinded. A 150 hectare wildfire is burning out of control near the BC Alberta border, south of Gordondale and Highway 49.
Residents and visitors were told to either leave with necessary items for 72 hours, or prepare for such an evacuation, depending on where they were located south of Highway 49.
An Alberta Emergency Alert was issued on Saturday. The order has been downgraded to an Evacuation Alert.
An Evacuation Alert was also issued for the Gundy area, near the B.C.-Alberta boundary.
A wildfire, about one hectare in size, was burning out of control on the Alberta side of the border, 10 kilometres south east of Pouce Coupe.
The fire near Gundy is now listed as being under control. An Evacuation Alert for the area has also been rescinded.
