FORT ST. JOHN -- A snowfall warning has been issued for Peace River North with accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres expected into tonight.

According to Environment Canada, the snowfall is forecasted to last through the day and create quickly deteriorating road conditions, and motorists are asked to use caution.

The same system is also expected to bring 15 to 20 cm of snow to the Pine Pass Wednesday. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Drive B.C. is also warning of slippery conditions along Highway 97, in addition to compact ice and fog patches along the Taylor Bridge.

The snowfall is expected to ease overnight, as a Pacific frontal system moves through Northern B.C.
