DAWSON CREEK -- The Emergency Department at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital is on diversion for much of Thursday.
Northern Health announced the Emergency Room will be unavailable between 1:00 pm and 10:00pm.
People in the Dawson Creek area who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e. chest pains, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding) should call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
The Health Authority is citing staffing challenges for the closure. The last closure at the Dawson Creek Hospital was 11 weeks ago.
