GOODLOW -- DriveBC and Dawson Road Maintenance are warning drivers to expect major delays on Cecil Lake Road as crews conduct emergency repairs.

Construction is being done to repair deteriorating infrastructure by the Goodlow Cemetery.

Traffic will be down to a single alternating lane stretching close 1.6 kilometres from 248 Road to Clayhurst Road.

There is an option for passenger vehicles to detour via Golatta Creek Road, but due to seasonal weight restrictions, oversized loads will not be able to travel through the area or by detour routes and are being asked to plan their routes accordingly.

Repairs began on the road Tuesday morning and there is currently no time frame as to when the road will reopen.

DriveBC will provide its next update on March 28 at 4:00 p.m.
