DAWSON CREEK -- The City of Dawson Creek is warning residents of potential water disruptions that could last for up to four days.

Over the next week, crews will be working to replace leaking valves near the Hansen Reservoir raw water line.

Residents living along the reservoir, extending to the Deveraux Booster Station, have been advised of temporary water shut-offs for the necessary repairs.

“We are making every effort to minimize the impact on residents and complete the repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said the city in a Facebook post.

The city urges those who may be affected to prepare by storing enough water to last up to three days.

“Please prepare for temporary loss of service by storing an adequate water supply for your needs, especially for livestock,” said the city.

The valve replacement is scheduled to  wrap up November 20th.
