DAWSON CREEK -- A Dawson Creek company is facing a second fine from WorkSafeBC in the past 4 months.

SL Enterprizes Ltd. has been fined $18,450 in connection with traffic control work being done on a highway in Charlie Lake.

According to WorkSafeBC, the company’s trailer was spotted being towed by a truck travelling along the highway.

A worker, who was not the operator, was riding on the trailer and picking up traffic cones from the road.

WorkSafe says, “The firm failed to ensure only operators or otherwise authorized workers rode on mobile equipment, a high-risk violation.”

In December, SL Enterprizes Ltd. was also fined $18,450 for putting workers at risk by failing to have a control plan. The two fines amount to $36,900.
