DAWSON CREEK -- Police in Dawson Creek are reminding the public to be aware after a truck that was left running was stolen. The vehicle was stolen from the Aurora Inn around 8 a.m. Monday morning.

Police say the owner of a 2022 GM Pickup Truck left it running unattended to warm up. With the help of the OnStar system, the truck was later found on 206 Road near Pouce Coupe.

Between now and February auto theft numbers specifically for trucks increase significantly. Police want to remind public that during cold spells to not leave vehicle running while unattended.
