DAWSON CREEK -- Dawson Creek RCMP says that they responded to several accidents across the Peace Region over the long weekend.

They responded to a total of seven collisions. Police say icy conditions and snow played a role in all of these instances.

Monday morning around 7:30 a.m., police responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Braden Road and Highway 97. They say six vehicles were involved, including two semi-trucks and four pickups. There were no reported injuries.

Eyewitnesses say one of the semi-trucks rolled over, deploying the airbags. They say there was also a single-vehicle collision on the detour route.

Police are reminding drivers to be aware of the road conditions and have winter tires. Drivers should also take extra precautions when conditions deteriorate and leave extra room between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
