DAWSON CREEK -- RCMP were called to a gated compound on 17 St. near 98 Ave.
According to police, when they arrived on scene they witnessed 35-year-old Matthew Victor Ayotte walking away from the area.
RCMP allege Ayotte was trying to break into the compound by ramming into the fence with an ATV.
The recovered ATV had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Ayotte was remanded into custody and he has been charged with break and enter with intent, possession of stolen property, and mischief under $5,000.
