DAWSON CREEK -- It's perhaps the best part of the stampede, the sometimes wacky foods available up and down the midway with samplings from a variety of cultures and cuisines.

During the second day of the ‘Greatest Show in the Peace’, we're getting a taste of what's being offered.

There is the classics: burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, or for those with a sweet tooth, cotton candy and mini donuts.

But new this year, a culinary trip around the world with the inclusion of international food trucks.

We start in Italy where Corrie Sandwell is bringing fresh ingredients and mouth-watering cannolis to the stampede at Nico’s Italia.

"Our most favourited is our margarita pizza, custom Italian sausage on a bun, freshly made bread by Nico-- he's an artesian baker from Venice," said Sandwell.

Now to India, where different curries, rice, and naan is being served up at a food booth set up by local East Indian establishment Spicy Fusion.

"This has been so good so far, getting a positive response, people keep coming and going. They're excited for the food," said Nikhio, an employee of the restaurant.

For fans of African fusion or Mexican cuisine, there's a food truck for you too.

“I think it's really important just for people to come down this weekend, enjoy the fall fair and the diversity we have here for foods," said Mike Bernier.

The MLA for Peace River South joining in on food row showcasing his own branded hot sauce dubbed the ‘Mardi Gras’ sauce that he assures isn’t too spicy.

“I've been giving away the hot sauce, people are putting it on their burgers while they’re here and it’s been a lot of fun,” said Bernier.

Some of the other vendors returning this year include the Save on Foods Steak House with proceeds from sales going to local charities, and the pierogi platters from 'Eat Your Heart Out.’

We can't forget the sweet treats that are also a hit.

"They have the deep-fried Oreos, they have actually KitKat fries with individual KitKat and a chocolate dipping sauce, powered sugar on it—great,” said Anna, a rodeo attendee.

There is no doubt something for everyone at the 102nd edition of the Dawson Creek Stampede.

If you want to get your hands on some of the sweet or savoury foods, the exhibition runs at the fairgrounds on 116 Avenue until Sunday.

A full line-up of event schedules and ticket information can be found on the Dawson Creek Exhibition website.
