DAWSON CREEK -- Students from Dawson Creek's Northern Lights Aviation programs were given an exclusive tour of a CC-295 Kingfisher Aircraft.
The Royal Canadian Air Force Air Attractions Team gave students a hands-on experience allowing students to take walks through the aircraft, and discuss career options and paid education options.
Kate Ballard is an Avionics System Technician and Specialist Recruiter with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. She says the hands-on experience is valuable to students.
“I think it’s really important for students to get to see that kind of hands-on and technical application of where their skills and the techniques that they’re developing and how they can utilize it as a career,” said Ballard.
The aircraft is one of the newest Search and Rescue planes in the Air Force.
The Royal Canadian Air Force is currently visiting aircraft maintenance engineering colleges across Canada to discuss NCM-STEP. It offers full-time paid training or education at Canadian post-secondary schools for certain courses related to military positions.
