FORT ST. JOHN -- A new wildfire is burning out of control 40 kilometres southwest of Pink Mountain.

The BC Wildfire Service said the fire was discovered Thursday afternoon west of the Graham-Laurier Provincial Park.

The fire has grown to 25 hectares in size. The Wildfire Service said the fire is suspected to have started as a result of a lightning strike.

Due to limited access to the fire because of its remote location, wildfire crews aren't able to get to the fire on the ground. The Wildfire Service said the fire is being monitored and plan is being drafted on how best to fight it.
