FORT ST. JOHN -- The COVID-19 outbreak at the Site-C hydroelectric dam project in Northeast BC has been declared over.

Northern Health said 92 total cases were discovered during the latest outbreak at the dam project. The outbreak declared on August 16th.

No new cases have been discovered since September 15th. All of the active cases according to Northern Health, have recovered from the virus.

The Health Authority says that stricter control measures, including ongoing monitoring, mask mandates, physical distancing requirements and rapid testing will remain in place.

Mandatory vaccinations are now required for all Site-C workers and contractors.
