FORT ST. JOHN -- There will be road work on Highway 97 near Chetwynd causing delays.

According to DriveBC, there will be road construction work between Heart Lake Trail and Stone Creak Subdivision until this Friday at 7 P.M. The roadwork will focus on Highway 97 northbound. Due to this, there will be single-lane alternating traffic.

DriveBC advises drivers to watch for traffic control and expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

They further say there will be workers mowing the grass on Alaska Highway. The work will focus on the area between Chetwynd to 16 km north of McLeod Lake. It is expected to end on Thursday at 4 P.M.

DriveBC advises drivers to slow-moving vehicles in areas that can cause further delays.
