DAWSON CREEK -- As students head back to classrooms next week, the City of Dawson Creek is reminding residents that Dawson Creek is known for animals exploring our streets. This comes after a Lynx sighting in Kin Park.

The City is encouraging residents to teach local wildlife awareness to children who will be walking to and from school.

BC Parks shares these tips on their website:

  1. Do not yell or whistle at an animal to get it’s attention
  2. Do not approach the animal
  3. Stay at least 30 metres, which is at least three bus lengths, away from animals such as deer or moose
