FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- Being alone at Christmas can be difficult for anyone. For seniors, it can be especially hard.

Bounce 101.5 FM and Move 98.5 have paired up with businesses in Fort St John for the 'Christmas Cards for Seniors' program.

Boxes to fill with cards have been placed at Browns Social House (1-9719 100th St.) and Home Hardware (9820-108th St.). A thoughtful letter instead of a card is also welcome.

The goal of the program, brighten the spirits of a senior during the holidays.

Once Christmas draws closer, the staff from Better at Home will deliver the cards to Seniors who don't have family nearby.

Kier White, Afternoon Host for Bounce Radio, says ‘Christmas Cards for Seniors’ is quickly becoming an important holiday tradition.

"As soon as we started talking about cards for seniors I was getting calls in the studio from various business asking what they could do, where they could drop cards off and making pledges they were going to fill out boxes of cards with all their employees. This community is fantastic when it comes to things like this."

Christmas cards and letters can be dropped off until December 13.
