FORT ST. JOHN -- On November 11th delegates from around the world will attend the United Nations climate change conference, COP29, in Azerbaijan.
For the third year the First Nations Climate Initiative will be attending as part of the Government of Canada’s delegation. That includes the Chief of the Halfway River First Nation, Darlene Hunter.
The group plans to present on how to reduce carbon footprints with measures like wind and solar energy. They also will show how Indigenous nature-based solution projects are protecting and restoring traditional territories.
Cop29 will be held in Azerbaijan and run from November 11th to the 22nd.
